How and why I came to riding in Légèreté with Philippe Karl
I have always been interested in riding in lightness because my first teacher practiced horse-friendly riding. He did not use any means of coercion and trained all types of horses. When I became an instructor, I aimed to improve my skills by respecting these principles.
While participating in clinics at the French National Riding School (ENE), I met Patrice Franchet d’Espèrey, who introduced me to the method of François Baucher (second way). I then naturally turned towards the French riding tradition in Légèreté.
I read numerous books by ancient and modern authors. It is through these readings that I discovered the work of Philippe Karl. His books greatly impressed and inspired me. I met him and became his trainee shortly afterwards – that’s how it all began.
