Wer sagt, unsere Schule kann sich der heutigen Zeit nicht anpassen, weiß noch nicht, dass wir seit diesem Jahr online gegangen sind. Ich muss allerdings dazu sagen, dass die gegebenen weltweiten Umstände uns dazu geführt haben.
Die Grenzen zu den Übersee-Ausbildungskursen sind aufgrund der Corona-Maßnahmen geschlossen, nicht nur für Reitlehrer/innen. Es musste schnell eine Übergangslösung her, um unsere Kolleg/innen aus Australien, Kanada und USA weiter zu unterstützen.
Seit März dieses Jahres bin ich die Online-Beauftragte für die Ausbilderlehrgänge dieser drei Länder.
Was für eine Umstellung! Zuvor war ich direkt dorthin geflogen, und jetzt sitze ich in Deutschland am Rechner und mein/e Schüler/in reitet z.B. in den USA...
Das musste ich erst einmal meiner Versicherung erklären.
Wie auch immer – das war ja nur eine der Hürden, die es zu überwinden galt, um das Projekt starten zu können.
Mittlerweile ist EDL-Online schon voll im Gange. Dazu gehören Videoanalysen, Quizze, Livestream-Unterricht, Theorie und jede Menge Online-Meetings.
Dadurch sind wir konfrontiert mit den Technologien von heute. Wie plant man einen Livestream-Unterricht? Was braucht man dazu, und wie geht das überhaupt? Ich sehe es als Bereicherung für meine Schüler/innen und für mich, denn in Zukunft – ob wir dafür sind oder dagegen – werden wir nicht darum herumkommen, um mit dem Fortschritt mithalten zu können, uns ein wenig Online-Wissen anzueignen.
Ich habe für die Teilnehmer/innen eine private Facebook-Gruppe gegründet und nachdem wir, die reitenden „EDL-Onliner“, einige technische Hürden überwunden haben, hat sich unsere Gruppe sehr gut entwickelt. Wir diskutieren über Fremdreiterunterricht, Theoriepräsentationen und Videoanalysen. Es kommt Kursatmosphäre auf. Natürlich nicht wie bei einem realen Kurs, aber wir versuchen, dies virtuell so nah wie möglich anzugleichen.
In einer Zeit wie dieser ist es schön zu wissen, dass wir Verbindung zueinander halten können, egal wie weit wir voneinander entfernt sind.
Alle „EDL-Onliner“ sind motiviert und streben nach Leichtigkeit. Und wer weiß, vielleicht ist das auch nur der Anfang einer neuen Ära.

EDL-Online – a step into the future?

Those who say that our School cannot adapt to modern times do not yet know that we have gone online since this year. However, I must admit that the given worldwide circumstances have prompted us to take this step.
The borders for overseas teacher training courses are closed due to the Corona measures, not only for riding instructors. A temporary solution had to be found quickly in order to continue to support our colleagues in Australia, Canada and the USA.
Since March this year, I have been the online supervisor for the teacher trainer courses in these three countries.
What a change! Before, I had flown there directly, and now I’m sitting at the computer in Germany and my student is riding in the USA, for example...
I first had to explain this to my insurance company.
However, that was only one of the hurdles that had to be overcome in order to start the project.
Meanwhile, EDL-Online is already in full swing. This includes video analyses, quizzes, livestream lessons, theory and lots of online meetings.
This confronts us with the technologies of today. How do you plan a livestream lesson? What does it take, and how does it work? I see it as an enrichment for my students and for me, because in the future – whether we are for it or against it – we will not be able to avoid acquiring some online knowledge in order to keep up with progress.
I created a private Facebook group for the participants, and after we, the riding “EDL-Onliners”, overcame some technical hurdles, our group has developed very well. We discuss pedagogy lessons to unknown riders, theory presentations and video analyses. A course atmosphere comes up. Not like in a real course, of course, but we try to approximate this virtually as closely as possible.
At a time like this, it is nice to know that we can keep in touch with each other, no matter how far apart we are.
All “EDL-Onliners” are motivated and strive for Légèreté. And who knows, maybe this is just the beginning of a new era.
